Key layers a human can cross-read: (1) an interior 'Industries' production tag that has carried a date/production code since ~2010 (the prefix ZIND is the one commonly cited for jackets/coats; other prefixes are reported by third-party guides but are not well-corroborated); (2) an internal tag with a QR code plus a 12-digit serial for owner registration on products roughly from 2013 onward (a Certilogo-based authentication system predates this, used from ~2008-2012 with numeric codes, then QR from 2013); (3) a down-certification tag that changed from a legacy down tag to a DIST (Down Integrity System & Traceability) tag around 2017; and (4) on many pieces from ~SS2016, an embedded RFID/NFC chip (often behind the logo badge) tied to the printed code. NOTE: Moncler reportedly wound down the embedded-chip program around 2022 and removed some associated web pages, so genuine jackets from that era may no longer scan or verify online -- absence of a working chip/scan is NOT by itself damning. The correct use is: register/scan the code at the official checker (code.moncler.com), confirm it returns the same model/color/season, then check that ALL tags corroborate one another and the claimed era, rather than trusting any single code or chip.
What to checkRegister/scan the 12-digit code (or QR) at the official portal (code.moncler.com) and confirm it returns the SAME model, color and season as the garment. Then cross-check the production/Industries tag (era-appropriate code), size tag, and down tag (legacy vs DIST) for internal consistency and era-appropriateness. Treat a valid code as necessary-but-not-sufficient, and do not treat a non-scanning older chip as automatic proof of fake, since Moncler retired the embedded-chip program around 2022.

Code returns the wrong model, or portal behavior is treated as sole proof
generalEntering the 12-digit serial/QR at the official checker returns a different model/color/season than the garment. Note the limits: counterfeiters clone genuine codes onto fakes, so a working code proves the code was real, not that THIS garment is; conversely, some genuine older/retired-program pieces may not verify. Sleeve logo patch reads flat, low-density, or crooked
